Open Africa is excited to announce the Energy Private Developers Association (EPD) as its official partner for its upcoming Financing East Africa’s Energy Plans Roundtable event in Kigali.

EPD’s formal role is to assist private sector players in investing in the Rwandan energy sector. The organization was formed and launched in 2016. EPD’s on-going success has been built on its ability to provide successful representation and advocacy on behalf of significant (and growing) numbers of investors, developers & consultants, with the relevant official energy entities in Rwanda.

Rwanda’s successes in developing its energy mix and the global recognition it has received (e.g. placed 5th by BNEF in 2018 amongst emerging markets countries for the attractiveness of opportunities in clean energy investment) is a measure of the success that the EPD (and other stakeholders) are having in developing the industry.

Open Africa is delighted to be working with the EPD on its event next month. This roundtable discussion will take place at the in Kigali on the 28th of May 2019. Confirmed speakers already include Ministry of Infrastructure (Rwanda), Ministry of Energy (Kenya), Metito Utilities and Rwanda Energy Group.
